Thunder

Just like the first echoes of thunder
Signal the showers of rain
So your yells and howls and screams
Beckon to your inner pain
On and on you rant
Trying to let it all out
Wishing somehow
You won’t have to cry
To finally ease it down
How loud can your voice become
Not too loud for me
Rather the thunder, than the rain…

Restless

This poet’s at a loss for words
How can she describe
The bittersweet agony
The turmoil inside
I’ll look for you
And want for you
My need for you shall grow
I’ll beg for you
I’ll bleed for you
Give till there is no more
And still it shall not happen
Whim to fates and time
Still I shall not know
Of the true love meant to be mine

End of the World

The world could end
I wouldn’t care
The sky could fall around us
I wouldn’t notice
The ground could quake beneath
I wouldn’t feel the ripple
With you here
Love is so simple
Life is you
What am I to fear?

Caress

Smooth friction merges cheek against cheek
As in a brief moment of tenderness
Speck on a landscape of regret
My heart chooses to give
Knowing it could never get

Elusive freedom is in a kiss
As I transfer my soul to you
I want nothing
You’ll give nothing
Save break my heart in two

See this lonesome tear
Where it’s fallen by your lip
Oh! But if I were that tear
I would be lonesome no more
Why can’t I be that tear?

Sparks fly from your flesh to mine
You smile, I’ll be crying
Be blissful knowing I love you
Though that love was never mine to give

For sheltered in your arms
Warmed by the sunlight of your joy
Is my darling

There are some moments
Which transcend words
Which even a poet can’t express
With all the languages of the world
What do you mean to me?
What do I see when you smile
What do I feel when you laugh
The world would dim in comparison
And every creative thought
Be rendered a cliché
Truly you leave me speechless
Powerless to the drag
As you sink into me

Chasing butterflies in the wind
I call to you
As we play around in green
I reach out to you
Something magical in the sky
And I’ve found it in your heart
Motion in art in motion
The circle evolves to include us
As you throw your head back
And dissolve in the moment
Catch me if you can

As I run out of breath
Nothing too much, too bad

A Walk to Remember

A single pearl walked down the aisle
Tears of laughter in her smile
Today would be her day forever more
The bird had flown and continued to soar

The blossomed rose that touched the skies
The little robin had found its nest
The Prince Charming for whom she’d been waiting
Was finally hers to caress

It seemed she had known him forever
Yet never known until he had shown
The best friend she loved like no other
Was ready to become much more

Always there when she needed someone
He knew her heart and soul
A celebration of love she held so dear
He was to become her home

Music played like silver on air
Her dad held her hand so tight
And whispered in pride and pleasure
‘My daughter’s the loveliest bride’

Family and friends smiled
As she walked to where he stood
The priest started the rites
The feeling intensified into an ‘I do’

She had walked single
Now her name her life was changed
And as she looked up at him she knew
She wouldn’t have had it another way

As she kissed the boy she’d known
Husband she smiled at the sound
She glorified in her ‘walk to remember’
With the companion she’d love always
Till they were no longer around

Fate coincidence
A slight brush of two destinies

Be the mast to my sail
As I travel on raging sea
Were you to be the tempest?
Where then would my home be?

As I clutch to the rail of hope
Would the rope of friendship
Be enough to keep me from
Drowning in the forces that be?

Leave your imprint on my mind

I love you friend, however you are
May we meet for a moment

The clammy cold hands of night
Descend around my hopes
That your sweet sunshine voice
Shall brighten up the day’s gloominess

What strength must a heart possess?
To understand the unsaid
As faith remains but a dangling thread
Would a friend always understand?
