Push your memory away

I try to push your memory away
But every time it calls me back to say
Howdy mam! It’s been a long time
Gonna come and mess your head for a while

We've Held Hands

Scan the pages of a book
Seep into the frames of a scene
It doesn't feel apart from you
It feels like a place where you have been

And the words as you pick them up
Flow like silk over your skin
They shimmer upon your mind
And find a way to reach deep within

Oh! I feel I know you stranger
Strangers no more, our minds connect
Strange reader of a strange writer
Worlds apart, worlds intersect

And you find in each word a new key
To understand this person created by me
Is it me?
Are these my thoughts?
You discover this world which I've created
Yet you feel at home
Like this was yours

You look for me within the pages
But you do not need to know who I am
In sharing minds, we've shared visions
In sharing visions, we've held hands

My Mistress Becomes My Wife

I used to send secret letters to you
Spend hours writing each one
Yet they thought I wasn't crazy for you
That you were just a piece of fun

I'm leaving everything behind
And coming to you to stay
They may be shocked and startled
We always knew it would come to this day

I'm leaving her behind
All she gave me were an empty heart and hollow home
I'm coming to you to stay forever
I'm leaving her all alone

Song of the Banshee

The banshees came in the night time
Asking me to sing them a song
They wanted to hear the music of the living
A song that had eluded them all life long

So I strummed a few notes upon the strings
And hummed in time as I tapped my foot
They clapped their hands, they danced about
In crimson cloaks, painted with soot

When I began to sing the words aloud
They stopped and listened as I sang of love
They laughed as they listened with tears of mirth
Their heads rolled around and their eyes popped out

Stop they told me for such jest was too much
They didn't think too much of human love
They had stopped trying to find human pairs after death
Instead they found triplets, quadruplets and fives

Unknown to them, Cupid had given me his charm
My guitar the bow, my notes the arrows
Girls would dance their lovers along

The ghosts emerged from the air
As I played and the banshees swirled
When my song ended, each had a pair

They bowed in gratitude, then turned away
But one I had forgotten, she held me in her sway
I realized as she sang, her voice was so much sweeter
Enamored I knelt, she ran towards me
Before I knew it, I was seeped within her

I laughed as she smiled,
I touched her cold, clammy skin
Ah, but with love, you can never win
Treacherous Cupid gave me a flying kiss goodbye
In my quest for love, I had found my way to die

A Dream Called Paradise

Weary travelers crossed a stream
And stumbled headlong into a dream
This they did not realize
They mistook it for paradise

Colorfully dressed colorful people
Wafting smells of baking bread
Pure tunes of innocent melodies
It was a world away from theirs

An angel danced up to meet them,
Her sister joined, a butterfly
They flitted, giggled, tossed their skirts
Invited the travelers to a jive

So potent their magic, the travelers danced
Their feet not stopping, they carried on
When a search party came the morning later
They could not fathom where they had gone

I shall tell you where they lie
It's in a dream called paradise
If you're lucky enough to find it, never wake
Reality is the bigger mistake
Much better it is to fly

Love Can Come When It May

Many miles have I traveled down unforgiving roads
Many faces have I looked into then walked onwards
Solitude seems so hearty, so unlikely its demise,
Company is a fleeting trend, for fleeting delights
This heart changes skins like a snake through the seasons
This mind changes the bars, redecorates its prison
I satisfy my senses with the tiniest of pleasures
Squeeze out every drop from my molten sun day
I am whatever and everything, I need
If love wants to come, love can come when it may

When Friends Become More

Whatever you do, stay the same
Don't praise me, don't raise me
Don't be sweet to me, don't meet me
Don't even acknowledge that I am there

Whatever you do, stay the same
Don't stay true, make me feel blue
Turn away, don't even stay
Make me believe that you don't care

Whatever you do, stay the same
I may not find you, but you will come
And you will cry, and you will deny
But what has been done will stay done

Whatever you do, stay the same
And maybe when the sun shines brightly again
We'll look past the pain, laugh 'never again'
And get back to having more fun

Whatever you do, stay the same
You are my friend, let us stay the same
Don't try to be more any more
Even though I love you as I have before
Never change

The Demon Born III

Jaded, deep, above it all
Cold, I locked the fire inside
Through a million imaginary loves
I would make the ideal love survive
Through skepticism, a one-sided glass
I saw you animals in your cages
Till I saw you looking back at me
You understood the words within these pages
I stepped away and looked you over
You calmly stepped out of your box
For the first time after the freeze
I found myself begin to thaw
Many questions came, the answers not
And notions of love are so airborne
They fly away now as I wave you goodbye
And recline, within my demon born

The Demon Born II

I met them, in droves they came
As cattle with a head for grass
With evil pleasure I watched them chase
Their tails asunder, their heads apart
I stood not with butcher's knife
For though to pulp I could reduce their ploys
Though I could scheme, I preferred to watch
And get amusement from my new toys
From them who played and hoped and were blinded
Sources of inspiration anew I found and formed
With these hands and in this mind
By pen I unleashed the demon born

The Demon Born I

There was a gleam in your untamed eyes
As you wickedly spoke in jest
'Let she who loves, know love lasts not,
Quick or slow, it dies a painful death'
And I knew each letter of every word
For it was I who put them there
It was I who chose to break your heart
By parting ways with it
I threw a stone against the mirror
An attempt to shatter your ugly form
Tear-wracked, blood shot with bags of coal
Your eyes testified to the demon born

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star

Twinkle Twinkle Little Star
I wonder whose wish you are
Is it someone just like me
Locked up in her little dream?
